The Paradise Snare

The Paradise Snare - A.C. Crispin Strong entry in the EU universe puts the earlier Han Solo Adventures and Lando Calrissian Adventures into place on the now establish SWEU timeline as well as expanding and developing the early life of Han Solo, including earlier romance, childhood and his military career. Later books introduce how he met Chewbacca and got the Millennium Falcon and more. I thought the book was well written and had a good pace and feel. The character of Solo was played well. Even the ideas of what his life might have been pre-Episode IV was believable and well thought out. A few fun uses of phrases and terms and even characters from the movies in earlier incarnations as well. The characters of Murgggh and Bria work very well and neither is a substitute for his later companions but are instead great foils for his character development and emotional b.g.
