A really great read with nice character development and pacing. I'd have liked to have seen some of the supporting characters developed a little more, and there was a bit of a hole for me in one detail of the Portomancy magic but otherwise, just a spotless debut and the best part is its uniqueness. It's set in viewpoint of 4th and 5th generation warfare with modern military and weaponry mixed with Goblins, magic, etc. It's a fascinating use of tropes and a unique setting which stands out from the pack as fresh and new. A great debut. A promising series. Highly recommended.
