On Basilisk Station

On Basilisk Station - David Weber A solid, entertaining romp, marred only by Weber's tendency to interrupt action with long, boring, overly technical exposition. Seriously, this is space opera, not military manuals. Lighten up a bit. Still, sets up an entertaining and interesting premise and character. Weakened a bit by less character development on supporting characters, although it's better than many, at least in this book. The world building is top notch and well thought out as are the military tactics. But Weber also sets up his character to heights that leave you wondering where she has to go from here. I certainly look forward to seeing how that unfolds. Recommended. A must for space opera fans.
